Royal academy of engineering looking to move on

Posted: 19/04/2006

The Royal Academy of Engineering may soon be on the move.

Property consultancy Cyril Leonard is on the lookout for new premises that will have room for a new large lecture theatre.

Associate Partner Peter Kauffer said that the RAE is looking to acquire between 20,000 and 30,000 sq ft within reasonable access to government offices in Westminster.

He explained: 'This requirement is meant to replace the RAE's existing building in Great Peter Street, which is no longer large enough to deal with the many aspects the organisation is responsible for.'

In addition to around 15-20,000 sq ft of offices the organisation requires a lecture theatre capable of seating around 150.

'They recognise they may need to construct this facility if it is not already present in the building,' added Kauffer.
