Cyril Leonard appointed for landmark mixed-use scheme at New Malden railway station

Dubai based developers, SRG have appointed Cyril Leonard to act as Development and Project Managers for this landmark new build mix use scheme located adjacent to New Malden railway station.

The Client achieved a successful Planning Consent in 2019 to provide 83 residential units, 4 retail and 2 office units set over a basement car park, with a team including Thorstone Land, Maven Plan and TP Bennett. Following this, Cyril Leonard were appointed to manage the development from RIBA Stage 3 through into detailed design and construction phases.

Whilst retaining the key team members we have assisted the Client in appointing a full design and project team including Davies Maguire, Mendick Waring, Kibre Interiors, Place D&P, Leslie Clark and MLM. The project has made significant progress with demolition currently on site and due for completion Q1 2021. The new build construction work is currently out to tender and work is expected to start on site in Q2 2021. Construction work is expected to be circa 2 years on site and complete mid-2023.

The project has involved extensive stakeholder engagement and complexities, including close liaison with Network Rail, Thames Water and other adjoining owners. The scheme will deliver class leading and design-led residential accommodation which is expected to set a new benchmark for this thriving and developing commuter suburb. It will also provide high quality retail and office accommodation and placemaking in order to further assist the improvement of the local area.
